Ameer Abdullah Khan is lecturer in International Relations Department of MY University Islamabad. He holds degree of Master of Philosophy from National Defence University Islamabad in International Relations.
Ameer’sM.Phil dissertation was titled Impact of Climate Change on HKH Region: Implications for Pakistan’s National Security.He has taught courses on International Politics of Environment as visiting faculty at National Defence University Islamabad.He did Masters in International relations from National University Islamabad and remained a position holder during M.Phil and MSc. His bachelor’s degree is in Engineering which makes his approach interdisciplinary. He contributed a chapter titled Improvised Explosive Devices: An Impending Threat in a book The Decision Point: Afghanistan 2014. He has nearly five years of work experience in academia and research. Previously, he worked as Research Fellow. Later on, he worked as Team lead with a consultancy TAMBRO Pvt Lt Islamabad in the field of Risk Management covering Terrorism, Armed Conflict, Civil Unrest, Political Instability, Health Hazards, Crime and General Risk inside Pakistani. While working on the position of Team Lead, he initiated a project with the cooperation of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Industrial Hazards Risk Assessment in Pakistan. Over five million rupees worth of first phase of the project has already been kicked off and he is honorary member of the project team in recognition of his efforts. Furthermore, he prepared risk management plan for United Energy Pakistan (previously known as British Petroleum.) First phase of this project with a total worth of around five million rupees was completed by him as the Team leader. He also provides freelance consultancy in report writing on socio-economic issues to different NGOs and private organisations. In academia, he has taught in Roots Millennium School Islamabad in junior section and BS Social Sciences Program. He also provides coaching to candidates appearing in civil services exam.
Research Interest: His areas of interest include Climate Change, National Security, Politics of South Asia, Theories of International Relations and Political Philosophy. He aspires to pursue doctorate degree in Environmental Politics and excel in research and academia.
