MY University has launched its "Gem Hunt Program", as per its Vision and Mission approved by its Board, at Islamabad Club on Friday (March 31, 2017). The program is a revolutionary initiative and is a brainchild of the Vice Chancellor of MY University, Professor Dr. Muddassar Farooq. The purpose of the program is to seek assistance of prominent academic institutions of twin cities in identifying such Gem students at their institutions for possible induction into MY #GemHunt talent pool. Through this Program, My University wants to identify and select the best talent who are out-of-box thinkers and who have the leadership qualities and passion to disrupt the future of the nation. The trait values include but are not limited to: (1) motivation and curiosity, or a passionate interest in something unexplored; (2) scientific study or work habits, (3) determination to ensure persistence on the task until the job is done; (4) ethical character and moral sensitivity; and (5) tolerance for diverse ideas, cultures and religions yet self-respect for ones ideologies. Selected students will be enrolled in different programs – Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and International Relations -- according to their aptitude.
MY University will further polish and enhance these core values “to groom visionaries for social, economic and spiritual well-being of societies” in line with its vision. The world class faculty and modern pedagogic frameworks will be used to achieve this challenging goal” as stated by the VC of MY University at the launching ceremony at Islamabad Club. He requested help from all concerned to help MY University in this noble task.
