Dr. Raja Sher Afgun Usmani received his PhD in Computer Science from Taylor’s University, Malaysia. Earlier, he obtained his BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. His areas of interest include Large Language Models, Data Analytics, Time Series, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Bioinformatics. Moreover, he has over 15 years of experience in the software development industry, having held key positions such as Head of Engineering at IMARAT and Engineering Principal at BlueBlaze.Earth. He also possesses more than 7 years of academic, research, and management experience. He has published over 20 research papers in reputed journals.

 

He takes keen interest in spatial data science, time series forecasting, and deep learning techniques applied to health informatics and environmental data. His PhD research focused on developing theoretically sound and empirically robust predictive models that integrate geo-tagged environmental pollution datasets with clinical health records. He proposed a novel Enhanced Long Short-Term Memory (ELSTM) model designed to capture complex spatio-temporal patterns in high-dimensional and heterogeneous data. By leveraging domain-specific knowledge in air quality and cardiorespiratory health, his work demonstrated how advanced neural architectures can be effectively used to model and predict the health impacts of outdoor air pollution, contributing to both computational modelling and public health domains.
