Dr. Wajiha Moughal is currently serving as the Assistant Professor and Head of the Psychology Department at Muslim Youth University, Islamabad. She holds a PhD in Psychology from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, where her doctoral research explored the psychological dimensions of social media use, with a particular focus on social media stressors and their impact on university employee's stress and job performance.
With nearly eight years of academic and research experience, Dr. Wajiha has developed a strong expertise in the field of digital psychology, particularly in understanding how digital interactions and prolonged exposure to social media platforms influence mental health and psychological well-being.
Prior to her PhD, Dr. Wajiha completed her MPhil in Psychology from Hazara University, Mansehra, Pakistan, where she laid the groundwork for her future research on behavioral and stress to modern technological stressors.
Dr. Wajiha has published several research articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, contributing significantly to the growing body of literature on social media, stress, and psychological resilience. Her work offers practical insights for educators, mental health professionals, and policymakers interested in mitigating the negative psychological effects associated with digital environments.
In her leadership role at Muslim Youth University, Dr. Wajiha is dedicated to enhancing both the academic and research standards of the Psychology Department. She actively mentors students, fosters a research-oriented culture, and is involved in curriculum development to ensure that academic programs remain aligned with contemporary psychological challenges and advancements.
