Dr M ShamimBaig is PhD in Computer Science (Hardware & Systems) from George Washington University (GWU), Washington DC,USA; MS in Industrial Systems from Cranfield Institute of Technology (CIT), UK; BS in Avionics Engineering from College of Aeronautical Engineering (CAE), PAF. He is qualified Lead Auditor in Information Security Management System (ISMS) by British Standards Institute UK.

He has more than 40 years of Academic, Research & Engineering Management experience in the field of High Performance Computing, Digital System Design, AI & Network / Info Security. He has been Air Vice Marshal in PAF, Principle Scientific Officer at A.Q. Khan Research Labs & founding Director General / Dean of “Centre of Excellence for Cyber Security” at National University of Science & technology (NUST), Islamabad. He has been Professor, Director Advanced Studies & Research at Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) Islamabad & PG/UG faculty at Hitec University Taxila.

He has taught following courses at undergrad / grad level in various well reputed universities (GWU USA, CAE PAF, NUST, CASE & Hitec): Parallel & Distributed Computing (GPU/multicore/cluster, cudaC,openMP,MPI), Advanced Computer Networks (Python,Wireshark,SDN), Cryptography & Network Security, Reconfigurable Computing (FPGA/P-SOC/HLS/systemC), DSP System Design (VLIW-dsp), Information &Coding Theory, Parallel Algorithm Design & Analysis

His current Research focus is: Integrate hpc(GPU/SOC) in SDN using AI (Machine/Deep Learning) to find innovative/ efficient solutions for cloud/ IOT/ Cyber Security applications. He has published more than 36 International Journal/ Conference papers in the field of hpc,sdn&infosec. He has been Chair IEEE Educational Activities, reviewer/ session chair Int’l conf. & Keynote/ invited speaker for Seminars in these fields. He is also member PEC.
