Programs - MPhil Islamic Studies

Eligibility:

M.A., BS Islamic studies or equivalent degree, earned from a recognized university after 16 years of education with at least Second Division or CGPA of at least 2 (on a scale of 4.0).
Entry requirements:
Written departmental test: 40 Marks
Interview: 10 Marks
Academic Qualification: 50 Marks (F.Sc/A levels = 15 marks; BS/MA/MSc = 35 marks)
 
Duration of M.Phil.  program: 2 years (4 Semester)
Introduction of the M.Phil. Program
Department of Islamic Studies was established in March 2018, when university laid setup of faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
M.Phil. studies involve 30 credit hours course work followed by comprehensive exam and research work to develop new scientific knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving strategies, active learning, self-realization, and participation in research discoveries. The research mission incorporates multidisciplinary collaboration, with both qualitative and quantities using advance methods to investigate the queries.
This program will help to enhance the knowledge about Islam and relations among Islam and other religion. This will consequently lead to uplift of community of whole Pakistan. Department of Islamic Studies which will focus on the problem- oriented research related to Islamic issues.
 
Objectives
  • To educate the students who could analyze modern social science i.e. Economics, Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology etc. in the light of the teachings of Islam.
  • To present scientifically and effectively the truth of the revolutionary teachings of Islam in every field of life.
  • To produce the scholars who are experts of Islamic Education with an exposure to modern scientific, technological and social development.
  • To promote the tolerance, brotherhood, unity among the Muslim Ummah, moderation, broad-mindedness love with mortal and other Islamic values, through academic activities.
Career
The M.Phil. Islamic Studies is an ideal program for the students who wish to pursue Ph.D. If ambitions are to look for an academic career in Islamic Studies or Arabic language, then this degree is also the best choice.
Students of M.Phil. Islamic Studies get vast career scope by rendering their services to Teaching, Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Council of Islamic Ideology, Zakat and Usher departments of public and private sectors.

** Research Thesis worth minimum 6 credit hours. University has option to increase its credit hours, as approved by its statuary bodies.
