Introduction
BS program is a step of HEC in the right direction to raise the level of education in Pakistan at par with the world. The curriculum for the Bachelor of Science (BS), was developed using a holistic concept to create balanced individuals who are skilled and knowledgeable in all fields. BS English program would offer both basic and advanced courses in linguistics, literature, and English language. In conjunction, an assortment of subjects from the domain of social sciences is an integral part of this program to instill in the students an interdisciplinary slant. 04 Year BS Program courses are particularly designed to equip students with the foundation to orientate and explore their interest, in English literature and linguistics as two distinctive subjects, through specialized courses and dissertation writing. More specifically, the department’s identity, which proudly sets it apart from every other Department, lies in its continued commitment to coverage of traditional British literature, from Chaucer and Shakespeare to the Victorians and the Modernists.
Vision
The Vision of BS in English Programme is to offer a degree that addresses the issues of general, open-minded education without creating any specialist streams at this level. The purpose is to give a comprehensive exposure to the students without going into unnecessary distinctions about literature and linguistics, which is of course desirable at the advanced level of research degrees only, as is evident from the nomenclature of degree programs also.
