Programs - BS Psychology

Introduction

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. BS-Psychology Program is organized under the Faculty of Social Sciences in such a manner to provide a balanced knowledge both of theoretical and practical aspects in Psychology.  It provides an opportunity to the students in learning the basic processes of sensation, perception, cognition, language, memory and personality development, It also focuses on the principles of Biopsychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology and  Health Psychology. The overall goal of the Program is to integrate the scientific foundation of Psychology with the core concepts of Humanities along with modern science to better prepare students for the professional training in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and other related disciplines.

The Vision of BS Psychology Programme is to become a leading Centre of Psychology in Pakistan by achieving the highest standards of excellence in teaching, learning and research.

To provide high quality education and learning of psychological concepts, issues, methods, theories, applications, services, and critical thinking.

 

Program Objectives

Advanced and innovative teaching methods and strategies are employed to hone the students’ critic-creative capacities, written and verbal skills, analytical and contextual thinking. The department would organise regular seminars and talks pertaining to the central themes of the discipline to foster community-based learning in the students.
